Any Recored TV replacements in the works?
As someone thinking of switching from WMC7 the Recored TV section imo is by far the least impression section of Sagetv7.
Does anyone know of any recoredtv ui replacement on the way? |

Lets start with this. Show us a screen-shot of the recorded TV from your MediaCenter, what you like about it. And we can work from there...
For example. I see something like this in MediaCenter Which is nice and all, but it doesn't really say much. Or perhaps you use the 3rd party addon that looks like this: Not a big fan of that one either personally. Now that I got that out of the way ![]() Last edited by Brent; 07-19-2010 at 05:53 PM. |

there is a version of TVExplorer in the works for sage7 but it probably wont be ready until late 2010... you can see the v1 thread in my signature to get an idea of what v2 will look like...

Quick question: I'd heard that the V7 UI is quite a bit faster than the V6 UI on extenders -- does this hold true even when you're using the Malore menus? Drew |

I primarily use a PC client, so can't really comment on the extender performance, though since the malore screens haven't been updated to the v7 look/feel yet (and not using the new effects system), it may not be any different. Don't really know, and it's not really worth wondering until they are updated.

TV Explorer is the way to go. I can't wait for it to be finished. I'm almost considering going back to v6 ui just so I can use it. Almost...

While I love the work razr did in regards to fanart, it seems to me that it lacks a lot of malore's functionality. I think it would be better to simply add full fanart to the default malore menu's framework, though work on that would be pointless at this point, until Andy finishes the updates to the base Malore multimenu.

The Malore Menus are very snappy on my HD100s.

May not be beautiful, but it does the job best of all the others I've seen. I really don't want a pretty background in the way of reading a list of what shows I have recorded.

It's not the background really that I have a problem with. It's the amount of info on screen - there's just too much.
btl.

I agree - too much information is as bad as not enough... having said that, everybody's taste is different

Oh dear god, my eyes!!!!
(with no offense meant tward Andy) If that had been the default when I first tried Sage, my experiment would have lasted all of 15 minutes. To explain as opposed to just being critical: I agree with the people above, too much information. Too much text too closely spaced. I can appreciate the utility that some people find in having that much info all one one screen, but it's definitely not my taste. |
