recored a VHS tape how to make kit playable

I recored an old VHS tape. I connected my old vcr to my pvr 150 through composite connections on the 150 card. I used Sage tv to record this. Sage created a mpg file. It plays fine with sagetv. I want to burn a DVD so i can play it on a standard DVD player.
Not exactly sure how to do this. I made a Data dvd with the nero software my DVD burner came with but that wont play on a DVD player. Do i need to convert the file to some other type of file to make it playable on a standard DVD player. When i say standard DVD player its one that connects to a TV no computer. I know this DVD player can play DVD's created on a PC like slide shows i have made with Proshow Gold.

Data DVD's are only for software and files, it's not for DVD movies. You need to make a video DVD. Check to see if the Nero you have has Nero Vision. It' will do what you want. It's easy to use, just follow the steps and you will be in good shape.

You can also google "mpg to dvd" There are millions of walk through's using trial software and freeware.... such as this one,

I kinda figured something like that. The nero i have doesnt have vision. I will try that trial software.
