Recored dvd

Hi Not sure if this is releated to sage or not but I jsut got a dvd burner and burnt my first dvd using a recording made by sage 2.0.15 the dvd plays fine in my standard dvd player apart from the video osn;t central ie the letter boxing at the top is small compared to the bottom, i'm pretty sure the recording was using dvd long play, any ideas?

Are you playing the DVD in sage or a regular DVD player when you get the odd aspect ratio? Are you expecting 4x3 and getting 16x9?

If I understand you, No, I have never seen that without an issue with the TV or a front projector not alligned correctly.

Regards,

Mark

I'm playing it on a regular dvd player, the thing is that made me wonder was that i had to change the aspect ratio vertical offset in sage to centralise play back in sage due to overscan and wondered whether this effected the recording or just playback?

The zoom/offset settings only affect playback AFAIK.

well there is a known problem with hauppauge drivers where the widescreen format recording are off by a little
usually like he said the top is smaller than the bottom black bar
there are some older drivers that did not have this problem but they are not as good in the quality department
Hauppauge has apparently not fixed this issue would be my believe
I suggest you email them and describe the problem

The thing is that when playing the movie back with sage it is central, it also look central when editing it, just not when playing back on my stand alone dvd, normal dvds play back fine though?

common troubleshooting would suggest playing a dvd that plays normal on your dvd player within Sage, is it centered then?
