It works - now what?
Hi,
Set-up SageTV isolated with a single tuner - then changed it to be a server and connected a client. Then bought an MPV and that also works. Set-up Nielms web access, tried different STV's and included wheather module and then decided to stay with mlbdude2 stv. Then started again same story but more tuners - had some problems with PAL 150 but everything sorted out. It all works and is stable. If it is not broken don't touch it - but half the fun is playing with it, isn't it? What's next? (apart from version 3 which will get there when it get's there) Jan |

schedule more recordings to take up the time normally spent on fiddling.

switch to sageMC (or any other of your choice) for commskip support. Now you will have even more free time skipping those commercials.

he - thanks for your suggestions - commskip is not going to work I'm afraid. I'm using the VIA EPIA mini-itx boards - just enough processing power for the bare minimum and no spare capacity for recompression or commskip.
We are lucky with national channels that don't have commercials - the commercial stations do have them but national TV has quite decent programming. Jan |

Do you have a more powerful computer on your network that you could use? If you get the Commercial Detection Manager from the Cayars STV thread, you can map your Sage recordings directory as a drive on another computer and do all your comskip processing there. You don't need to using Cayars STV for this either, AFAIK.

![]() Of course if you're like me, you probably can't, so make an image (I like Acronis True Image) and then start breaking stuff ![]() |
