First Google, now Sony

Looking to launch internet-based "cable TV".

Server: AMD Athlon II x4 635 2.9GHz, 8 Gb RAM, Win 10 x64, Java 8, Gigabit network
Drives: Several TB of internal SATA and external USB drives, no NAS or RAID or such...
Software: SageTV v9x64, stock STV with ADM.
Tuners: 4 tuners via (2) HDHomeruns (100% OTA, DIY antennas in the attic).
Clients: Several HD300s, HD200s, even an old HD100, all on wired LAN. Latest firmware for each.

I think it's pretty safe to say that as long as your ISP is ALSO the cable provider (as it is in Canada, and probably much of the US as well), you are not going to see independent companies being very sucessful with internet TV. To use the 7.99 a la carte Neflix streaming, I had to double my internet bandwidth... so I now pay 100/month to watch a 7.99 service
