Recommended Upgrade Procedure?

What is the most WAF friendly way to upgrade Sage 7.0 running Diamond 2? Uninstall Diamond 2, shut down Sage & Service, install Beta, and then install Diamond 3?

Thanks,

P

That's exactly what I did, I also took it a step further and removed all of my existing UI mod plugins to avoid any conflicts with the new Diamond as I'd previously experienced some issues with v2, so I wanted to make sure I was starting with a clean slate.

How about upgrading from an existing 3.x version to a new 3.x version? Uninstall Diamond plugin, then upgrade to latest SageTV beta (if available), then to new Diamond 3.x plugin? Thanks.

I just update Sage and then go to the plugin menu and update the plugin.

I recommend you take images between the software changes, just in case something goes bad. You always need to be able to recover your system quickly to keep the WAF high.

Agreed... you should always have backup between Sage version updates (Wiz.bin etc). I was just suggesting that the uninstall of the Diamond plugin should not be necessary.
