Sage 6 to Sage 7 Upgrade License After Clean Install - Procedure?
I am going to go from Sage 6 to Sage 7 Server via the upgrade offer.
I would like to do a clean install of Sage 7 and my OS. My question is this: Do I have to install Sage 6 Server, activate it, then install Sage 7 over it and add the upgrade key? Or can I install Sage 7 Server to begin with and enter the Sage 6 key and then the Sage 7 upgrade key? I'm assuming a clean install of Sage 7 is best, even if I have to reconfigure the tuners. Also, I know Wiz.bin contains info on the shows and their directories, but is that also where all the favorits shows, recording options for them, etc. are stored? I am assuming it is since I never see that info under the properties file. Obviously, I will have multiple backups of the Sage directories and ghosts of the original Sage Server if it all goes bad. I don't want to lose track of 6TB of shows. Thanks for any help.
