Clean Install of Sage...

I just did a clean install of SageTV and now want to be able to see the 100 GB's or so of previously recorded shows.. when I go to the "Recorded" show menu, it comes up blank..

I waited until the EPG had finished updating before changing the video directory in "Setup" to point to the folder where my previously recorded shows are and before I recreated my "Favorites"..

I've restarted the service a couple times and they still don't show up...

How can I get them back in that display?

Thanks!!!!!!!

The data for your recordings is stored in the wiz.bin file. Did you delete that?

Also, if you restart SageTV and you have video directories that don't contain the videos that it sees in the wiz.bin it will clean out the entries.

Wiz.bin.. no more

the Wiz.bin file that was in use before I had to do the clean install, unfortunately, is gone... there might still be one on the client (can I use that one?)..

And.. are you saying that all those shows might get deleted now, since Sage is now pointing at that directory for Video storage, and the new wiz.bin knows nothing of those shows??

Okay, I created a new Video2 folder and pointed Sage to it.. the old "Video" folder still contains the original recordings.. I have restarted Sage several times, I'm not sure why they weren't "Cleaned up".. Sage actually saw that space as "Used" and actually in the information showed it as recorded content... as far as it showed I had 2 days of recorded shows.. but it simply wouldn't display those shows in the recorded shows area..

Weird eh?

It doesn't display them because all info about recorded shows is stored in the wiz.bin file, and that's gone, there's no way to get it back. If Sage finds a file with no info in the wiz.bin, then it does not categorize it as a "Sage Recording", they get categorized as media files. Most likely the shows are in the Video Library/Imported Videos section.

I found were Sage put those.. they are all now listed in the "Imported" folder as you suggested! I'd like to put them back in the "Recorded" folder, but it sounds as if that is not possible.. it does explain why Sage didn't delete them though!

Is it possible to replace the wiz.bin file on the server with the one from my client? Or am I totally out of luck getting these shows back into the recorded GUI?

The client uses the data from the wiz.bin on the server, so there shouldn't even be a wiz.bin on the client machine. Not much you can unless you actually do have an older copy of it stored somewhere else as a backup.
