Issues with clean install of Sage Linux placeshifter

Just installed Sage Placeshifter to Ubuntu 9.10. Currently running non-transcoded over the LAN.

The good news: my laptop (Lenovo T400) seems to handle the video well after a few seconds, both video from my HD-PVRs and HDHomerun.

The problem: While playing full-screen video something ain't working with the progress bar and menus. When you try to activate them they pop-up for a split second and then disappear again making it impossible to navigate the timeline or even call up the menus with the right mouse button.

Disappointing to have issues with pretty much a clean install of the latest version of Ubuntu and placeshifter. I did add Mplayer to Ubuntu before installing Placeshifter, so who knows maybe that bonked something.

Before I retry with a perfectly clean Ubuntu install and try Sage tech support, thought I'd see if anyone here has a solution.

P.S. - Running from USB key, although I doubt that has any bearing on the issue.

I see the same thing until I changed the video card and had a driver that supports the 3d acceleration option. Much smoother and now the popups actually work.
