Sage Directories, MyMovies Directory and the MM database
I recently changed my Movies database folder on my NAS. My MyMovies movies import directory is still a shared drive on my WHS as before. I then accidentally deleted the VIDEO IMPORT directory in the Sage setup and had to recreate it. D'oh
I have caused a database issue with SAGEID (it cannot find it for any movie I click). Now when I click on a movie in SMM, it complains the SageId is missing and shows the media directories for Sage and MyMovies as an error message. The Kids are not happy I know the directories are case sensitive; tried it both ways. Do I need to rebuild the MM database, SMM datafile, both or what? Thx

Sounds like you need to rebuild the MM database.

Similar No SageID Issue
I recently added a few movies to my system and all of the movies I have added show the same error (No SageID found...lists the the folder names, etc)
I have tried: - rescanning the library from within Sage, - rebuidling the DataFile from within the MyMovies Plugin, - refreshing Import Library from within the MyMovies Plugin, - erasing the entire MyMovies database and restoring from backup (which kept failing until I rebooted...was seriously sweating at this point) - erasing the newly added movies from the database and then adding them back in. Nothing is working. The import folders match completely and I have many other movies in the same import directory that all work fine. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, Nutball |

If you are forcing a rebuild of te datafile they won't get linked ever. Sage must import the video before I can link to it. Updates are not instant and are ran with the library refresh but still take time after that completes for my process
To run. |

Thanks for the quick reply Plucky.
How do you suggest I have Sage Reimport the video? I selected "Scan Imported Media" from the "Setup" menu which added the new titles to the standard Videos menu. The movies play fine from the standard menu. This was two days ago and MyMovies hasn't linked to it yet. Since then I tried all the other options listed in my previous post. Did I mess something up by selecting "Rebuild DataFile" from the MyMovies Options/Database menu? What did you mean when you said they would never link up if I forced the rebuild? PS. best plugin by far and away, even eclipsing your previous Movie Wall effort. Thanks, Nut |

If they are in the default library rebuild the datafile exit smm an reenter. I was saying your rebuilt before the sage import was ran and after that fact there is nothing you can do but rebuild it again.

Working now
Plucky,
Thanks for your help. I am embarrassed to say that it turned out to be a folders issue on my part. I accidentally ripped the movie into a subfolder that MyMovies didn't know existed. For example F:/Videos/Akira/Akira/Video_TS instead of F:/Videos/Akira/Video_TS. Sage was able to see inside the extra subfolder but MyMovies couldn't since I had only pointed Collection Manager to the first subfolder F:/Videos/Akira -Nutball |

I removed my import directories from sagetv to force it to update the movie properties files but now I am experiencing the "Missing sage ID" error. SO far I have rescanned the directories with sage and they play fine from the default video tab. I did a refresh import libraries from the Database options in SMM. I re-imported a database back up into MM. Nothing has worked. Im have not found a option to rebuild the data base in MM. Any help would be appreciated.

I think I updated the wiki but can't remember
At any rate the option is in Installed plugins---general--sage mymovies API--configure plugin. This is only necessary when you do something like what you did. Cheers |

Is there any kind of visual conformation when it rebuilds? I see the option FULL MY MOVIES REBUILD - REBUILD DATA FILE
but when I highlight the rebuild data file button and hit enter there is no response or conformation Thanks again for the help! |

I don't know why the extender doesn't notify the server and clients do. But yes the mymovies icon should appear on the notification bar and disappear when finished.

Thanks I see the icons.
I had read about them but did not connect them to the update for some reason. lol you could save yourself alot of typing and have CMM play a Siren when it is updating. Will save you from having to tell all us instant gratification people to shut up and wait for it to finish before yelling "its not working" :-) |

Ok I was able to get most of the files working correctly but there are a few files that just will not correct themselves.
Let me give a few more details on set up Latest SageTV 7.0.23 on XP PC HD200 Firm 20100909 0 My Movie Collection 3.18 installed as standalone not client or server. I had one directory missing in the MM folder monitor settings and this cause about 6 movies to show up with names but no fanart and the same old ID error. Even after adding the missing directory, refreshing Sage, refreshing SMM and rebuilding the DATA base from the SMM api options they still are not working and this was after waiting for the SMM icon to disappear. I have tried doing a complete reinstall but no luck still getting the same problem. I didn’t delete the program setting folders in the hidden directory for MM and sage on the C drive. Once MM was reinstalled it started up with my full data base intact so maybe that is why I was not successful. Could someone go through a step by step for re-syncing the data bases when you have this type of problem? This is how I have done it with no luck: Added missing data base to sage. Refreshed Sage import from sage setup directory Refreshed SMM imported Directory from the Data base options. Went to SMM api config and initiated a database rebuild. |

Do the movies show up in smm?
Do they show up in the default video view? |

All Movies are playing and showing from the default Videos tab but when I enter SMM they show as a blank cover with text(title) and selecting them gives ID error

Veger's issue sounds similar to what's discussed in this thread.
I also think maybe a "corrupted" looking UI can result in different appearations, but their display is always significantly and noticably corrupt. I'm pretty sure in the past I've had something similar to what Veger described in his last post - in my case, I had corrupted the SMM database at some point, friggin around with my setup & upgrades, and physically deleting files before a full re-install seemed to fixed it for me in short order. Anyhow, to Veger, I'd suggest trying Plucky's advice in post #37. If you're not sure, the Sage install files to delete (after uninstalling/ stopping) should be the hidden folder \ProgramData\MyMovies\FilesStorage\SageTV. If so, SMM should work within minutes of re-installing the plugin (and restarting the service). |
