SageTV v7 DVB Radio

Has anyone got the radio channels working, i've managed to scan and find them but when i click play i just get no signal. I think it maybe to do with the fact that sage cant do interactive stuff.

I've only tried DVB-T so far will try satellite tonight.

Do you have the frequencies for the sat radio channels would save the hassell of scanning then setting it back up.

I'e attached my .frq file which was created this morning so it should be pretty much upto date, the only downside is that you'll have to sort through it to get the frequencys you want. I did also try DVB-T earlier on in the beta and it worked fine so I would assume it should be ok now as well.

Cheers

I get the same silent "No signal" screen as jamesdisco when trying to use a DVB-T tuner, so perhaps not. Is it still working for you?

I'll try DVB-S soon, but that's not really a solution for me because I'm short of satellite tuners.

Thank you.I discovered my problem was just finger trouble when I edited my frq file. DVB-T radio is working perfectly for me now.

My usual combination of Digiguide, DG2XML and Stéphane's importer gets me all the radio guide data too, so I'm very happy

Yeah DVB-T Radio working fine for me.

I do get a "no signal" for 2-3 seconds when I first tune in but then again I get this on DVB-T tv channels as well.

I'm looking to join the party and install v7.
Are any of you using it as the primary viewing system, or are you installed on a test platform?

I took the plunge. I've had no issues, everything worked, all my plugins carried on working too (LM Gestion's XMLTV importer, Nielm's web interface, the Windows Gadget).

The only minor issue is I have a coupls of old MVPs and they need to stay on SageMC because the new interface is very slow, even with animations turned off.

The waf is sky high, she likes the new interface and the fact she can now record Smooth FM (don't ask me why!).

It's very stable, I say go for it.

Edit: forget to say, the webfeedencoder plugin continued working without issues too.

That's bad news, almost all of the Sage access here is via MVP. Going to be hard to justify without the new UI, I think...

Certainly, with animations turned ON the new interface is completely unusable on an MVP - nobody would try to live with it like that. I've tried a couple of times with animations OFF, but although it is a great deal better I still couldn't put up with it; some people might feel different but I doubt it.

I'd encourage you to start a thread up in the beta forum to see if anybody has any other tips for speeding things up on the MVP - mainly so I don't have to!

Edit: I'll do that myself, I'm in a position to try them out and you probably won't be.

Is upgrading as simple as just installing the V7 beta? My current V6 system has been so stable that whenever I do any work on it I realise that I have forgotten how I do stuff with setting up Sage as its so many months since I last did any changes or maintenance. Contrast this with my continual tweaking of Windows Media Centre which always had problems but on the bright side I knew inside out as I had to fiddle with it so much:-)

Well yes, it really is that simple. I was a little nervous of the potential waf impact of course, but within minutes it was recording a mission-critical Corrie episode.

You can then load the new UI/STV at each of your extenders/clients, or not, as you wish. You will NOT want the new UI on any MVPs, so stick with the original Sage one or SageMC. I needed to install a later beta of SageMC to get that working properly again (the old one worked, it just kept displaying version-mismatch messages).

If you want to add DVB radio channels you can use exactly the same method you usually use to amend your lineup - personally I prefer not rescan using Sage, so I edit my frq files manually and use XMLTV Importer to change the lineup in Sage.

My upgraded server has been completely stable since I upgraded on Thursday evening and the family are all delighted with it. Me, I'm relieved!

That was daring !

I will upgrade at some point but I'm not rushing in to it. Will run the HD200 on the latest beta for a bit, check thats stable. Even then I will probably put SageMC onto v7 just for the familiarity factor (I'm upgrading more for the promised speed ups, the metadata inclusion in the video files and getting rid of the pause)

So no problems with latest beta SageMC on top of v7 ?

I don't really dig the new interface much so will probably stay with SageMC, hence:-

Cheers, I've had no time to install v7 at all yet. I will do it despite almost all my outputs being MVP anyway, I'm too much of a geek to ignore the version upgrade for long...

I would run the new UI for a few weeks first. A few of the guys who have been running it for the past month or so thought the same way, but after running it for a while stuck with the new interface.

Hi,

Are you using Digiguide data with LM Gestion's XMLTV importer ?

Yes I am. I didn't have to do anything to my existing setup to get Digiguide/DG2XML/XMLTV Importer working with V7.

My server specs are in my Public Profile - not bleeding edge but not far off. I don't think that's the problem and other posters have noted the V7 UI MVP performance issue too.
