Does SageMC work with SageTV 7 beta?

I'm sure this may have been mentioned, but is it still possible to use SageMC with SageTV 7?

Any issues etc?

SageMC works in SageTV7 just as before - You'll need to update to the latest version of SageMC though.

Actually there seem to be some glitches. I loaded it yesterday, because I like it better functionality wise than the default stv (even though SageMC doesn't look that flashy anymore in comparison). I noticed a few things like e.g. browsing through the music library would not highlight the current selection. This is kind of minor, but than I also ran into problems while channel surfing, where the selected channel was not tuned in correctly. This didn't reproduce consistently, but it kind of raised the question to me, whether it still works reliable or not.

Strange. Cause I've been using SageMC with SageTV7 on one of my 4 TVs and haven't had those issues. I'll fire it up this weekend and check it out though.

My intention is to not use SageMC much longer though as SageTV7's new UI works for my needs.

There will need to be some tweaks to be sure. I've run into the music screen glitch myself. There are also a few other things I need to hammer out, but in general it still works pretty well. I still use it on my main rig...for now.

Aloha,
Mike

I just installed STV7 and I get the following error screen:

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?

Thanks

Great, thanks Mike - does that mean you will release any fixes needed to make sure it works OK?

Found it and it works except that when I choose Online Services it reverts back to STV7.

The main reason for even messing with SageMC is because I did not want to freak my wife out this evening.....

I have 4 SageTV clients (2 HD100, 2 HD200).

Can I upgrade to v7 and move one client to the v7 ui (with plugins), while keeping the other 3 on SageMC?

(My wife doesn't take change well, I need to make sure "eveything" is working and I know how use/debug any issues she finds.)

Thanks,
chiledog

I believe so yes, just go into the relevant setup section on each extender and choose your interface.

What is Phoenix? You aren't talking about the Phoenix API are you? I've seen some talk about it but I looked around and couldn't find much information on it. Is it a replacement STV like SageMC or Ortus?

Phoenix is a replacement UI built on the Phoenix API. That's about all there is to say right now.

Aloha,
Mike
