Has anybody tried this device? I read about in Windows IT Pro.

Hadn't heard of this before. It sounds very similar to the D-Link SharePort technology. Only one PC at a time can be connected to a USB device. For printers this is not much of a problem since they can auto connect and disconnect when needed. This is how my printers are connected at home (D-Link DIR-655). My multifunction printer works exactly the same as if it were attached directly to my PC. The only thing better would be an actual network printer.

It would be cool if there was a USB 2.0 version which would turn the HD-PVR into a network tuner.

isnt the HD-PVR unstable enough? Why do you want to make it more complicated

Mine is perfectly stable. I am hoping to introduce it to the network so I can virtualized my Sagetv box.

I believe some VM software can utilize USB ports. I have Virtual Box installed on my WHS machine currently to test. While I haven't actually installed SageTV yet on the VM, I know I can select the USB port that the HD-PVR is plugged into and use it inside Virtual Box.

I really just need to buckle down and play with it some more, but I've been to busy to mess with it too much.
