Sage locking up after new network adapter
All Right we'll see how long this lasts here before it gets moved to the hardware forum. Never sure what the difference between the 2 forums are.
I recently reorganized my room and had to switch my sage server from a wired to wireless connection. I ended up using a 54G USB adapter. Anyhow, ever since then my Sage Server has been locking up about every 24hours. It used to run rock solid ever since switching to version 4. Coincidence? Anyone else experience something like this? The other strange thing is that it stops responding to keyboard commands randomly. Not sure if this is related or not. |

Anyway to connect it back up to the wired connection and see if the issues go away? DO you have the adapter plugged into a USB 2.0 port on the PC? Did you load the latest drivers for it?

Thanks for the ideas. I 'll run a wire to it and give it a try. If that corrects it then I'll just need to buy some longer wire. Latest drivers... now thats a thought. I just took the ones from the install disk |

Just following up. Finally got some time to troubleshoot this this weekend. I updated the driver for the wireless adapter and it froze less than 24hrs later.
So I finally dragged a long ethernet cable up to the box and let it run. Its been 4 days now and still running strong . Still can't believe the wireless card was causing all that. It was acting just like it was overheating and freezing. Live and Learn. Thanks for the sensible suggestions. |
