I'm not sure about WHS but I was having 3 blue screens a day with the nova-t-500 once I upgraded to XP SP3.
I reverted to SP2 for a long time, but a month or two ago I updated the drivers and put SP3 back on. I had a blue screen after a few days but haven't had one since. The driver I'm using is 26168 which is still the latest version on the web site. I'm keeping my fingers crossed....... |

I have now removed the Nova-T500s and am trying out (unsuccessfully so far ) a Blackgold BGT3500 dual DVB-T tuner - I have asked for help in a new thread - http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...085#post361085 - as I don't want to take this HDHomerun thread any further off topic |

I think the XP driver is supposed to work on 2003/WHS too.
That said, I just had another BSOD tonight, the first one in weeks. I think I'm gona get a Terratec Cinergy 2400i DT, but funny how once you decide to get one the price has just gone up...... typical! I'll put the nova-t-500 in my vista machine - vista doesn't have this problem but I can't get vista to run smoothly on my sage box. I was eyeing up a 1TB samsung disk on ebuyer for £59.99 last night. Tonight its £63.99! |

I too was having issues with BSODs on my WHS with the Nova-T500. I had retired it before trying the fix - but have heard that it does work on WHS.
I use the cheap and cheerful Nova-T sticks - you can get them for less that £20. I have 5 now - not sure any more would work due to USB bandwidth constraints - but that seems to be enough for now! T |

Hi all,
i'm just after a bit of an update on the different tuners people are using on WHS here in the UK. I have had bad luck with a couple of 2nd hand Cinergy 2400i's, and it looks like they are out of stock in most places at the moment to buy new. I'm tempted by the HDHomerun mentioned on this thread. From their website, it appears to integrate with SageTV well. I would be receiving the digital signal via DVB-T. Is this stable with the HDHomerun/SageTV/WHS combination? Are there any tricks to installing it and getting it all up and running? Is anybody using two HDHomeruns (to get a total of four tuners)? Also what is the current 'best way' so run/download the program guide? Thanks in advance... mevans

Hi,
no, just SD channels. as i understand it, here in the UK, to view the HD OTV channels you need a different type of tuner (DVB-T2) cheers mevans

Freeview HD uses the DVB-T2 protocol rather than DVB-T of the current SD channels. It's analogous to DVB-S2 for satellite & delivers more bandwidth per MUX so they can cram in more channels.
Currently there are no DVB-T2 devices for computers (USB, PCIe or HD Homerun). Happauge have promoised that they will have a single tuner DVB-T2 card available in time for the World Cup. |
