HD Homerun
I understand the HD Homerun works with sage in both OTA and QAM modes, correct?
The Homerun says it has TWO tuners. Are both of these tuners available to Sage for QAM at the same time? Any issues using this box? Like the crashing that's happening with On-air GT? Thanks! Stacy |

The only issues that I have had with the box (using QAM) has been the quality of the signal coming over cable. There have been cases where I have gotten quite a bit of drop out, but my TV was seeing the same thing. Controlling the HDHR using the provided software, I was able to look at the same channel over ATSC and QAM and the ATSC picture was fine. Stupid cable company trying to save bandwidth .

I have used a variety of tuners and this one is one of the easiest to configure for all that it offers. Never had any issues. I have tested 2xqam and 2xOTA, and 1x1, and they all worked AOK. So much so that I am thinking of adding another one

Where does one purchsae an HD Homerun? I'd love to test one with a money back guarantee in case it causes problems like the 2 On-Air GT's I'm stuck with

The HDHR is connected via the network, so there aren't any device drivers to load and cause conflicts.

There are BDA drivers being installed.

There shouldn't be. The HDHR connects as a network tuner and all of the work is being done in the box. It is a simple UDP connection between the HDHR and the PC. In fact, the standard application used to view programs VLC.

What used to be the SageTv HdHomeRun manager has been merged with the rest of the software. The early 6.1 betas worked just fine with the older packages, however, at some point you probably want to upgrade, especially since the scanning has improved a lot.
