hd homerun encoder error

Board, just installed an hd homerun and finished the recommended install instructions. I click on program to select a hd channel, and I get this error (-10): No encoders can tune the selected station

Currently have these listed under video/audio decoder
nvidia encoder
nvidia video post processor
sagetv mpeg video decoder

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Meanwhile, I am stuck watching SD on LCD ; )

Thanks Rusty

What steps do you recommend to trouble shoot this

Wild guess--are you not connecting through a router?

yes, i am connecting through a router, just checked the hdhr config (gui) and was getting a signal and could view the channels (very excited to see digital signals, but when the screen showed movement it looked like lots on horizontal lines). Thoughts, what would the router do?

Did you go through and figure out what channels you are getting through the HD Homerun GUI config and VLC? Did yo take all of your channel numbers like 84-1 and then physically map the channels in Sage? DId you read the instructions and forum at Silicon Engineering?

changed the audio decoder and sound came out with everyone except the nvidia decoder, is there a reason why that might not work?

The nvidia audio decoder cannot decode the AC3 stream, which is the audio stream present on digital channels.

So you have to use an audio decoder that does support AC3 decoding. I personally use AC3Filter, however I believe many people use reclock or FFDShow.

I have the same "no encoder can tune this station" error.
How did you get it to show up on sage?
Thanks!

I restarted my computer and tested with the hdhomerun gui program to make sure I was getting a single. I changed the decoder and got the sound. Everything is working now. I do get some stuttering on the video during live feed, I am going to adjust the antenna to see if that helps.
