HD Homerun Issue

I've been working with Silicondust for the past 2 weeks trying to isolate why my HDHR keeps going non-responsive. All of a sudden the sage server will not be able to talk to it anymore nor can the Homerun software itself. I can still ping it however from the Sage server.

They seem to thing its a network or possibly a bandwidth issue. Both the HDHR and the server connect to a DLink Gigibit switch. Either powercycling or simply powercycling the HDHR or unplugging and replugging the network cable bring it back to life. I replaced the network cable.

Today when it quit working I also loaded up the Homerun software on another PC to verify it was not working and to remove my Sage server as the culprit.

I just wanted to post to you all in case you have seen this before or have any ideas. It takes Silicondust support 1-2 days to respond after each thing they tell me to try and this thing is becoming very unreliable.

Thanks

Robert

The first thing I would try is remove the switch and hook the HDHR directly up to the Sage Server. I know this will be a bit of a pain but its the best way to rule it out. Another possibility would be to pick up a new switch (~$30) and try replacing it to see if that helps.

It ran very well for several months with all of the same associated hardware so this has been very disappointing. It has the newer power supply that came with it.
