Stopped Producing Data Errors - HDHR Prime

I've recently moved from an InfiniTV6 PCIe card to an HDHR Prime. I have used OpenDCT for both. With the InfiniTV6 card I would occasionally get an error like the following:

The device input "DCT-HDHomeRun Prime Tuner 13193C92-1 on urbr2.internal.thesteins.org:9000 Digital TV Tuner" stopped producing data while recording "Good Behavior" on TNTHD on physical channel 204. SageTV will try to reset the device. This may be caused by a channel that is no longer available.

However, it was not that frequent and I didn't dig too much into it. (I think a previous response on the forum was that my signal might have become weak.)

Now with the Prime I am getting errors like this on a regular basis, (like maybe once a week although in the past two days I have gotten two). I don't believe it is a signal issue as last night two other recordings happened at the same time as the one with issues and they were fine. (This is cable card and not OTA. Is it possible for one channel in a cable feed to drop signal strength?)

It doesn't seem to be related to a single channel, although this is the second time the show from last night failed, (the last issue was on 10/27 and there have been two successful recording of that show since). Looking back at my recent errors there have been eight for which I have records on six different channels.

Anyway, this is getting annoying and hoping there is some way to debug and address this. Attached are the SageTV and OpenDCT logs during the time of the issue. Any help is appreciated!

You are not the first person to report this problem. The issue is that the OpenDCT docker uses the SageTV media server remuxer unlike a normal installation due to a misunderstanding about how to enable the media server feature in OpenDCT. There are many cases whereby the SageTV remuxer doesn't deal with CableCARD content correctly (by fault of what the CableCARD tuner is streaming) and effectively locks up. I've prescribed a fix for this many, many times and the Docker script needs to stop modifying this for users since it is no longer (and never was) an actual requirement to get things working properly.

The problem is the line consumer.dynamic.default=opendct.consumer.MediaServerConsumerImpl which gets injected every time the container is restarted. It should be the default consumer.dynamic.default=opendct.consumer.FFmpegTransSageTVConsumerImpl. Currently the only workaround until the maintainer fixes it is to replace all entries for opendct.consumer.DynamicConsumerImpl with opendct.consumer.FFmpegTransSageTVConsumerImpl.

I apologize that you have to read this rant, but I'm really annoyed that this is still a problem since it's so easy to fix.

Hm, I know I changed this before (all individual tuner entries, not the "default" one), but it is no longer there. Perhaps I reverted the change for some reason. I will see if that helps, thanks.

No problem. I guess it's equally possible the config somehow got wiped.
