Cable lineup changed where are the SD channels?

Suddenlink changed their channel lineup. Officially it looks like everything they have in HD is listed in HD. In other words there is no ESPN. There is only ESPNHD on the guide they mailed me. So I think schedules direct is doing the right thing? I'm currently tuning with a box and a HD-PVR. I have a HDHR that will tune QAM but there is no guide data for say ESPN. It only exists for ESPNHD. I can map the channel to that data but I think I will lose control of SD vs. HD which I had prior to Suddenlink making this change. Is there a way I'm not thinking of to map these channels to a different logical channel and station ID?

In other words can I get to the point?
37--ESPNHD--tuned on HD-PVR
37.1(made up number) ESPN--(SD) tuned on HDHR

Another issue I have is that the HDHR scan reports some of the HD locals are in the 5000 range. I can watch them via the Silicon Dust software but Sage freezes when attempting to view/remap.

I had a similar change recently. It's very possible that Suddenlink has a new channel lineup that reflects the change in service you are experiencing, and you have to go into your tuning sources and dial up that new channel lineup. In my case, it was Charter Spectrum/previously Time Warner, and the new lineup was called "Time Warner Cable - Digital Rebuild"

Did they mail you anything ahead of time letting you know that maybe they were going "all digital?"

They did. Like I said, according to what they sent it looks like schedules direct is handling it like Suddenlink has printed. Channel 37 is ESPNHD. There is no ESPN. The SD version exists via tune it just appears that maybe Suddenlink isn't making separate guide data for it.

With the system that I use, the digital transition means that there are no more "SD" stations. Even old SD is being transmitted ... as HD I suppose one could say, albeit in a poor resolution potentially.

I'm not sure I completely understand your question. Sorry!

It looks like it is still SD to me. Black bars down the sides and all

If you get channels from your cable provider that don't show up in the EPG data, you should open a ticket with Schedules Direct, so they can investigate and fix.

However, if these channels are no longer in the official listing from your cable provider, I would guess that means they are in transition and those channels are probably going away soon.

Normally the HD and SD versions of a particular channel show the same programming. So, I'm not sure why anyone who is capable of watching/recording HD content would ever want the SD version of the channel.

It is because the “premium” HD only comes through the STB and I only have 2 of them.

For the OP, please open a ticket at the Schedules Direct website for this lineup (not the forum - the website where you signed up for service) so that we can check what's happening.
