Angry Channel Lineup Changed!!!

How long does it take ZAP2IT to get channel lineup changes from the cable companies???

I came in today from mowing the yard and expected to sit down and watch one of my fav's (ENTERPRISE) only to find a still screen that said,

"If you live in............(name of several cities) UPN (MVC) has moved to CHANNEL 17"

Well that was me.

I tried to change to channel 17 and SAGE would NOT LET ME!!! I go to my direct input to my TV (plain cable in) and indeed I pick channel 17 and there's my program, 3/4 over.

I live in area code 45324 and have TIME WARNER CABLE. I tried switching cable linups with no luck.

Who do I need to see to get this fixed? This screws up tons of recordings!!!

(why cant I tune to a station thats not on the lineup? The station IS there weather or not sage, or the PVR card knows it.)

broderp,

You should email Frey with your lineup info so they can put some preasure on Zap2it to get the lineup fixed.

I have never had a need to try this... but would the "Remap" option in "Channel Setup" work to at least temporarily fix this? (I realize it may be a red herring, but I thought I would toss it out there for someone who has used it to explain it further...)

Yes, this would work. Basically what it does it exactly what it sounds like, it re-maps the channels that Zap2It reports to be the actual channels that are on the TV.

I live in an area that has a cable company in the community, which isn't listed with Zap2it, so I have to re-map everytime the source that I use re-maps their channels Oh bother!

I sent email to Zap2it about getting my line up added, but got absolutely no response. Maybe it's time to spam them again.

AHHHH!!!

I will try this tonight and see what happens. I hope it works in my siduation. There was no channel 17 before yesterday. So my line up went channel 15,16,18,19 etc.... I hope this mapping will enable it to FIND and USE channel 17 and not just swap out say channel 7 for channel 10, both of which already have stations on them.

It sounds promising!!

Thanks for the help/suggestion.
