I noticed that pixilation and poor quality is more prevalent when the memory on the server is high. When I have a HD300 running and the mini client and the memory goes high the quality gets worse. I increased my memory on the server to the max 1280 (500 hex) and quality is great both on LIVETV and watching recordings both 1080I and 720P. Right now I am watching a crystal clear ESPN.

I don't see anything recorded in the log about the crash but I am going to go ahead and attach it to post anyway.

So far it very playable on Fire Stick but I am still working on getting it to play back HDHomeRun smoother. I am not sure if you can change how it save to file yet, I am reading it up on forum now but if there a way to set how HDHomeRun save recording to file please do let me know how.

Bill
I think the log file gets recycled each time the app starts/restarts There's nothing in this log file (at least nothing of use for troubleshooting this issue)

In the next release I'm going add a "Send Log" feature, so hopefully that will capture more.

That's interesting... Not sure how more memory on the server would help/hinder this.

Now I know why my HDHomerun is recording one of my shows in mpeg2 not in h264 or .ts It recording off the analog signal and for some reason the digital version of that station is no longer detected by HDHomerun.

Anyway I talk a couple of guys about mpeg2 and Fire Stick why it pixalation so bad on LJKMediaPlayer. They suspect it the mediacodec used with it and it either need fixing or use a different one.

I haven't tried livetv... I'm still connecting to a "dev" server that doesn't have any tuners.

But, LiveTV is covered the "push" protocol in the client, and that is the protocol that I'm still working on. ie, you can play it, but you can't actually skip in it.

Nexus player running 6.0 works with all 1080i content including mpeg2. Even live TV. 720p pixelates like everyone else. Comskip works, but seems to have issues resuming the stream once it skips. It takes a second then starts playback again. No issues until the next skip.

  • Gestures work, but are cumbersome.

Great Work!
I have the same model Nexus 7 2nd Gen (2013) but when I install it for first time I get a postage size screen. I cannot expand it to full screen.

Were there a trick you had to do to get it working on Nexus 7?

Thank you

Bill

Never Mind ...

Disabling VLC and hardware then rotating screen a couple of time fixes it ...

Strange ..

I just installed this app on my Nook color that has been rooted and has N2A Lillipop android 4.4. App looks great. dvd movies won't play. Mkv and MP4 SD files play fine without VLC. Choppy and wierd video overlay problems. Works fine with vlc option unchecked. my OTA HD recordings play choppy with either vlc or without.

So - I just got a Nexus Player last night and decided to give the Sage .6 build a try. It is rendering the UI in only a small corner of the screen -- anyone else experience this or know how to fix that? Thanks.

UPDATE: Nevermind -- was on stock 5.0 android - once I did a system update everything magically started working swimmingly.

New Version 0.08-ALPHA

This build maybe fixes the 1/4 screen size issue (maybe)

Resume works (for some media files -- Pull mode files). Settings has a couple new options and some removed. Stream Mode is there, and if you DON'T use live TV you can probably set this to Pull, and then seeking/resuming should work for all media types.

There is also a Send Log action in the Preferences. Do NOT enable log to File if you want to use this. Basically if you use Send Log you can send the log to me or somewhere else to view it, etc. If you do have Log to File enabled, then the Send Log will only send a partial log. Eventually I'll remove Log to File.

A couple of other bugs that people have added to the GitHub site have been fixed as well. Off hand, I don't recall what they are, but they would have targetd Mileston Alpha 7.

Video is still pixelated on my Tab S. MPEG2 1080i and 720p. Skip/seek is working great although I have never been able to get the on screen remote to show up, (I use the sage OSD or keyboard).

How do you bring up the Options menu? For the Shield I have tried to hold the Ok button on my Harmony, Escape and right-click on my mouse/keyboard, and hold the "A" button on the controller but can't get it to show.

I'm hoping to take a look at this, in the next build. I just didn't get to it this weekend... I spend most of time time working with video streams, and I didn't have much success on that front

Nexus 7 (2012) - android version 5.1.1
SageTV MiniClient v0.08, HW accel: No, Log to file: No,
SageTV v: 7.1.9

v0.08 (alpha) is much improved over 0.06. Sean, thank you!

v0.08 fixed the 1/8th screen view of SageTV.
I now see SageTV as full screen. Rotation does not work (not an issue for me)
The menu selection works reasonable well (never sure if tap or double tap will work)
One issue I still have is in the Guide section - getting past the initial set of channels. Double tapping on the vertical scroll bar caused the channel guide to flip round and round for about a minute and getting to the right section of guide was only by luck.
Getting the droid back / stop buttons to show up is still problematic.
