Samsung GX-SM530CF STB/CC + HD-PVR for SageTV?

Anybody ever tried using this Samsung CableCard STB with any version of the HD-PVR? Cost is $127. Would be cheaper over the long term with cablecard rental vs. STB rental, at least with Verizon FIOS.

Telecore,
I know this is a 4+ plus year old thread, but I had never ran across it before.

I do have two Samsung GX-SM530CF boxes set up with cable cards that I'm using as "tuners" into HDPVRs with Sage. The GX-SM530CF has been pretty solid as a tuner, it's only the HDPVRs that occasionally causes issues in recordings.

Thanks for the reply - at the time I had a couple of STBs+HD-PVRs and that looked like a good option, but about 3 years ago, Frontier (formerly Verizon) FIOS turned off all of their DRM, so I've been in the ideal situation of only needing 1 cable card (for 6 tuners) for a while.

Nice! Where we are FIOS has all non-premiums without DRM except for the channels owned or partly owned by Fox, which unfortunately includes NatGeo and NatGeoWild which has some shows we watch.
