Not getting EPG data on one tuner
I rebuilt my SageTV server from scratch on Windows 7 (was XP). After loading all the tuners, plugins and settings (old Wiz.bin), I have it right where I want it.
One problem: One of my tuners is not getting any EPG data. I have Cox Cable. (2) NVidia DualTV analog NTSC tuners: No problem (3) HDHomeRun digital QAM tuners: No problem (1) HD-PVR: No data on those channels First DualTV sucked down the EPG data fine. Scanned channels. Copied second tuner channels from first one. Three HDHR tuners same way. First was okay. Next two copied channels from first. HD-PVR I setup as a new tuner with it's own EPG, although it is essentially the same lineup as the HDHR's, it gets more channels so I made it separate. A couple hours later - no EPG data for those channels on the HD-PVR. Other tuners got it within minutes. Any ideas? |

I would try a couple of things. First try enabling/disabling a channel then toggling it back to it's previous state and exit source setup. If that doesn't work remove the tuner completely and exit source setup then add the tuner back.
It is my speculation that the EPG servers are occasionally slow or having problems and it causes our servers to give up - at least temporarily on an EPG download. If true you might just be able to wait a day to get EPG to download automatically.

I did that and now I get half the channels in the EPG, and the other half say no data. How is that even possible?
They are sequential too. Channels 1003-1030 have EPG. Channels 1032- 1092. Nope. |

That make me think even more that the EPG servers are having problems. It sounds like your EPG download stopped in the middle of the download so you only have data for half your channels. On 1032 try disabling and enabling it again. That will cause an EPG download to start again. Will have NO effect if current download is still happening so if you try this multiple times make sure you wait a while between them. It's been a while since I tried it multiple times like this so I don't remember how you tell if the download is done or not. But I thought there was a way. Maybe in the log or system information.

You may need to perform the following steps. The "No Data" may not get refreshed if you have data already later in the lineups.

I managed to get it working, but I'm not sure how. I stopped a bunch of services until it worked.
I run an Axis Camera Station server which was inserting a bogus 169.254.x.x IP address into the stack and I noticed it when I saw that my UPnP on my Firewall was using that IP instead of the primary IP I assigned the NIC. Fixing that seems to have worked. I have all the EPG data now. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/...etwork-adapter I'll have to monitor it for a few days to see if it keeps getting updated. |
