Decoder Merit Issues

[Evil_Attorney]

Having what I think are decoder merit issues on a new windows 8 32 bit tablet (HP Omni 10). First, both Windows Media Player and xbmc can play all of my Sage recordings from my HDPVR. However, no matter what I set Sage to or the directshow merits to, I get lots of shuddering. I have tried both the MS decoder and Arcsoft. Further, I am unable to change the merit of the MS decoder (tried several programs and all gave me an error, only for the MS decoder). I also tried graphstudio but got weird errors. I have included the errors and logs from graphstudio and Sage below. Can anyone help me out here?

Have you tried the lav Filters? Also there is a tool that lets you set the decoders in windows 8 and 7

PS It lets you change them back so no worries if you want to go back.

I've never had these issues with other win 8 systems and the MS or Arcsoft codecs. I've never previously had to resort to the Lav filters, but yes, that seemed to do the trick. Despite doing the registry hack, I wasnt able to get sage to use the Lav splitter, just the video/audio filters. But that might not matter since it seems to be working. Thanks for the help.

I believe a while back there was a fix in the LAV Filters to bypass a problem with the Sage demuxer.

Did you set this DWORD in regedit to 0 setting this disables sage demux and it will use LAV splitter for youtube mkv etc...

Yes, I did do this. I thought it was supposed to used the Lav splitter for HDPVR recorded content too?
