live HD skips with nvidia decoder; Sage decoder fine
I've been having problems with skips and audio dropouts when watching OTA HD shows. (Using a Fusion 5 Lite PCI card.) I figured it had to be some kind of software problem though, because watching TV in the Fusion app looks fine, and it reports a very high signal strength. I have the same antenna feeding my TV's HD tuner too, and it also doesn't have skipping problems.
So, I tried changing my Sage mpg2 decoder from nVidia to the Sage stock decoder--and all the skips went away. I'd like to get the nvidia decoder working though as it has better image quality. Any ideas on where to start looking? BTW the system is an AMD x2 4200 with GeForce 6150 video, using overlay. |

Well, I did find something that helps a lot. I changed the purevideo deinterlace setting from "smart" to "automatic."
I guess "Smart" is S-M-R-T. |
