tuner setup
So I had the OS drive crap out on me. Fortunately I was able to get the wiz.bin and properties files off it. using SageV7.1.9 on a windows machine as the driver for my tv. not using in service mode. not using a server.
got a new drive. reinstalled win7 and all updates including service pack 1. In stalled Sage. before setting up the video cards in the setup I exited out of sage and then copies over the wiz.bin and sage.properties files into the sage directory. Went back in and it seems to find everything OK. but the tuners don't seem to work. I tried scanning for stations and there was nothing; it couldnt find any I deleted the tuners and then added them (a hauppauge 1600 and 2250). when I select the tuner and then select the Digital TV I get an error: "There was an error in Playback. DetailsI then reinstalled the old drivers there were installed before the system crashed. Any ideas?

You don't say what the tuners are, whether they are on the motherboard, network, direct connect via USB/FW/etc.
That could make a huge diffrerence since you did a fresh install of the OS and SageTV. The actual hardware and/or network locations that Windows "sees" could be different than on your old setup. Plus any Firewall changes might also make a difference.

sounds like the hauppague drivers are not installed correctly.
Are you able to use their built in capture program successfully? |

I've never recommended copying over an old .properties file. Best to set it up again from scratch. There are too many install specific entries in there, specifically with the tuners.

I know i had issues with installing card drivers properly for the Hauppauge 2250 I ended up letting wndows find it since there was a driver update newer than i had been using 7.9.1.30192 , cant say about your other card since I never used one of it. But then again I ended up reinstalling win 7 os again since something was corrupted. I did the windows updates in small batches due to corrupting when i tried to do whole list in one gulp. I did essential security first & net framework last.
Good luck! Galaxysurfer |
