Comskip stopped working?

Hi there,

I was using Comskip and Diamond just fine. I wanted to upgrade to Gemstone, but doing so required me to upgrade the base install. I did so, got Gemstone going, but now Comskip does not work. It's installed still and all the settings look the same, but I don't see any markings at all on any of my timeline displays. Any clues?

There were no changes going from Diamond to Gemstone (Diamond V4) that would have any effect on Comskip working, I use it on all clients and it is one of the items we have worked to keep compatible.

Are your drive paths setup/mapped on the client?

Hmm, OK. I had comskip working before the slew of updates that I did. Maybe the comskip update itself needs something. I will dig into that side of things.

I think the latest build of comskip is working differently now. I don't think my shows have had any detection since upgrading the exe.

Comskip is working great for me, but I haven't updated the comskip.exe for a few months.

So I noticed last night that comskip is working just fine I must have been really confused or something.

I don't think you are wrong I am having a problem too. I opened a recording on my server - not running gemstone. I see all the commercials cut out. On my client I do not see the cuts like the EDL is bring recognized. I just updated my client's comskip plugin but that didn't help. Any ideas?

Check you drive mappings, your clients need to see the same drive letters as the server.

Drive D:\ on the server should be mapped to drive D:\ on the client.

I have never had much luck with UNC paths and this always works for me.

If someone can point to a set of instructions UNC path mapping for Comskip please do so as I'd like to do it right one of these days
