AMD/ATI Driver Problem?

After months of beautiful performance playback on Sage has reverted to being glitchy, stuttery and with frequent video noise. This appears to be related to upgrading to the latest AMD drivers. The last time I ran into this problem I resolved it by installing AMD's video codec pack (formerly known as AVIVO). Unfortunately, even uninstalling/reinstalling the ATI driver setup, and codec pack, doesn't fix the problem this time.

I'm pretty sure this is a driver problem. Remote playback over an HD200 is perfect, with no stuttering and no visual artifacts. The problems only appear on the LCD TV hooked to the Sage system itself. They're less noticeable/frequent when video files are played back outside of Sage (e.g., in Windows Media Player), but still present.

FWIW, the Sage video settings seem...different, somehow. Meaning I seem to recall having other choices for the decoders and what not prior to the recent driver upgrade. Right now the video decoder is set to AMD/ATI, but the HD.264 decoder is set to default. Playing around with these settings doesn't improve things.

Are there some behind-the-scenes tweaks I can do to fix this? Are there known problems with the latest ATI drivers and/or codec pack?

I'm using 11.2 without any problems.

FWIW, I uninstalled the AMD/ATI codecs and installed the Win7 codec package from http://www.majorgeeks.com/Win7codecs_d5959.html and had my problems go away. I now have beautiful, sharp, rock-solid video playback.
