Linux Placeshifter/Miniclient Fails

I've installed both server and miniclient on Linux Mint 11, 32 bit, using the .deb packages. The server seems to run fine and I can connect via a Windows client, however I'm not able to get the Placeshifter to work on either the server or another client machine. When I attempt to connect using the Linux clients the Placeshifter screen comes up that says it's attempting to connect to the server then it goes black and nothing happens. I use static IP and have tried connecting that way plus have tried connecting to sagetv.local, same results. The other Linux client is 32 bit Ubuntu.

Below is my client log, there is one line that states failed "failed to create drawable".

Turns out the problem was the nouveau graphics driver. After I installed the nvidia driver the client on the server was able to connect, haven't tried anything with the client on the laptop yet. This creates another problem for me though since the graphics output is all messed up using nvidia with HDMI on my setup. Sage works fine but if I try to use the desktop for other purposes all the fonts and icons are so small and distorted they are impossible to read regardless how close I am to the screen. That's another problem I'm trying to chase down in other places.
