Youtube may have changed things again and it just hasn't hit me yet. Similar thing happened last time. Didn't hit everybody at the same time. I did play gaga's bad romance vid to be sure before I posted.

Has anyone has any luck getting HD200's in extender mode to play anything on YouTube? I am using firmware version 20100909 0 which is the latest from what I can tell. Both of my HD200's are not working right now

Youtube "unable to determine the file to download"

I get this error message whenever I try to watch something on YouTube. It was working a while ago. Maybe an update broke it or something? I found some older posts but not sure if they would help due to the different versions and such. Other online content seems to work. I have verified the Youtube videos are there. Any ideas?

Current versions is 7.1.8.255
STV SageTV7.xml 7.1.8.3
STV theme Standard
Online videos version 2011030401, MDX prefix ffb1b3
Online videos updates are enabled

In this particular case your problem seems to be you're using 7.1.8

The Auto update for online videos will only work if you're on 7.1.9 and as or 2 days ago my youtube videos were working fine.

You need to update the STV. You do this in Detailed Setup-Advanced. The thread is also here.

Still not working in Standalone mode on HD300.

It does work in extender mode with latest updates.

You might want to upgrade to 7.1.9 and then update the STV, there is a Youtube fix in the STV updates...

The issue I had when starting this thread is still present. I've installed all updates, but for some reason all youtube videos only play for about 5 seconds and then stop. Anyone else seeing this?

I saw this when I disabled the SageTVStreamDemux in the registry and tried to use the Haali splitter. So now I only use the SageTVStreamDemux.

Hmmm. Well, that won't be re-enabled so I guess no youtube for me.

You Tube Playback Issues

Is anyone else having issues with You Tube play back? I get the spinning circle of death and then lock-up, no response. I noticed that You Tube added the advertisement cancel feature recently. Is this causing a problem with play back?

Me and my family uses youtube every day via sageTV. It also works great via the PC client. If you watch youtube videos frequently, it might be easy to backtrack your last steps to see what changed to cause this problem.

You Tube Playback Issues

Ok, I checked and then changed my video settings for non MPEG video's and that solved the You Tube Video play back problem immediately. Thanks MKANET for giving me a reality check...
