SageMC16x9 and MVP: Some weirdness

Hi,

Has anyone using sageMC16x9 with the MVP extender noticed a problem with the time bar, the multifuncion stop pop-up and or the options menu? They only appear very slowly and are then unstable on my system. No problems with the standard stv.

Thoughts?

Jesse

The animations are pretty slow on mine so I turned all that off. Seems to work ok, but I"ll need to check the multifunction & options to be sure they are still fast.

I think the new SageMC addons gives you the option to turn all of that stuff off, without editing the properties file manually.

Hi,

Thanks. I did turn off ui animations in the props file. I need and want to use the time bar, multi function stop and the options menu.

If you could post back with how smoothly yours is working that would be great.

Thanks.

Jesse

I didn't get a chance last night to play with the MVP (it's on a farily unused TV right now), but I'll try to do it tonight.

I have noticed sometimes on my PC client next to my desk that the UI animations for that stuff is VERY slow, and at other times it's extremely fluid & fast. When I say slow, I'd say it draws a frame of the animation every second, to second and a half, takes a good 10-15 seconds for it to completely pop-up the box.

Anything animated like that though on the MVP is going to be slow.

Also FYI, trying to use those features on a placeshifter client at my work, causes it to crash. Not sure if it's because I'm running that client on linux or not though.

I noticed that the stop menu is really slow, option menus seem to be fine (I also have the UI animations turned off). What do you mean with "time bar" ?

Hi,

Maybe time bar is not the right nomenclature.....You know when you hit pause or FF or RW the bar pops up at the bottom of the screen showing how long the show is, how much you have watched and how much is left to go.

Thanks,

Jesse

Possible brain fade............

I forgot that the MVP has its very own prop file that I will have to edit to kill the animations. I thought the animations only effected the main menu screen, but then I think alot of things that are'nt quite right .

I will edit the mvp prop file tonight and see if that does it.

Thanks again,

Jesse

I do have issues with the stop popup. When I hit stop, I just get a black screen. I have to hit the 'Home' button a couple of times to get out of it. (the stop popup then briefly appears before switching to the main menu) Maybe I'm just too impatient. I usually start mashing buttons after about 15 seconds or so. I don't see any other issues besides generally slow response in all menus. I have all animations turned off.

Hi,

Perhaps brain fart would be more appropriate. No "mlbdude" entries in the client props, but I did finally notice that there is more than one line in the props files regarding animations. I had never noticed the "osd animations" line before. I set that baby to "false" and it's all good.

Thanks for the help folks.

Hi Mike,

the Stop screen seems to take very long for me too, maybe about 10 seconds, but it does finally show up. I will look into this, since it is nagging me quite a bit too
