Sagetvtranscoder constantly >70%

I'm running version 7.1.7, but this has been happening for as long as I can remember, certainly since 6.x. I keep hoping the next update will fix it, but so far nothing...

Sagetvtranscoder is constantly running at 70% and above, even when nothing is being recorded, played, imported, etc.

I'm running Sage on Win7 as the server (not used as a client at all), with an HD200 as the only client. But, even with the HD200 unplugged, the utilization is the same.

I've read some threads about turning off thumbnail generation, did that, no change. I haven't been able to find much else that explains this.

I'm at a bit of a loss here. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I had the same issue for a long time. It turned out that a few of my videos were unplayable for one reason or another. Post a log so we can take a look.

Or submit a bug report. You can hope for a fix all you like, but unless you actually tell them about your issue, they won't know it needs fixing.

Yes. Sometimes the transcoder gets "stuck" on a particular file. Turn on debug logging and file a bug report.

That was it. I never even considered that since I rarely convert files. Looks like one has been stuck for a few months. Thanks!

No problem. Sage would probably be interested in the file that gave it trouble. File a bug report and they'll tell you how to access their public ftp site.
