USB-UIRT constantly flashes
The unit works great but it's always flashing whether I push any buttons or not. I noticed that if I turn off my TV or if the computer screensaver comes on & blacks it out the flashing stops. So is the TV interfering with the USB-UIRT? Is that a problem, or at least one I can fix?

Is your TV a plasma?
Plasma TVs emit some IR noise that could be triggering your USBUIRT.

More then that the sun, lit fireplaces, and candles put out loads of IR.
Compact Florescents put some out too however they have never caused me troubles. You will have the most trouble while learning codes, I do it in the dark and create as dark an enviornment as possible. Obviously only while learning codes. I have never had troubles and I have the worst combo possible, large windows, gas fireplace, wife into candles, a good sized plasma TV and compact florescent lighting. Oh and a wii which uses IR emitters for tracking. |

Mine's definitely tv related. If I turn off the tv the USB-UIRT stops flashing. Turn it on, it flashes like mad.
