HD 300 USB adapter always on?
It appears that my SageTV usb adapter is always (the red light flickers) on even when the HD300 is off. Is this normal?

When your HD300 is off (red light vs. blue) it is not actually off. It's just not outputting video.
The Linux OS is still running, thus you can still telnet into the device etc. Thus your USB is still working.
