SMM Poster View (no Art showing)

Plucky
When I enter this menu all I get it the glass covers with no art and the background art if downloaded. Is this supposed to be showing Poster art if I have it downloaded ?

Do you have points? The posters require I believe 500 or 750 I can't remember
Exactly. I plan on adding a phoenix imp of the posters like I did the backgrounds but just haven't gotten there yet.

Plucky,

I have the same problem. This worked for me with manually downloaded posters in the first release (per the wiki). But since the subsequent upgrades nothing.

I am not using any MyMovies points just my own downloaded artwork with the manual overrides for backgrounds and posters.

P.S. Thanks for this great addition to SageTV and all your other fine work in this community.

Are you adding a poster.jpg to the folder or to the posters folder in mymovies share?

Is it not showing on server or extender or both?

Poster art ID

after reading the Wiki on Fanart it says i can get the movie ID number from here

2. Open your mymoviesfileshare\sagetv\properties\MyMoviesIDList.properties file. Within this file all the movies will be listed by the following:

collectionnumber=movietitle/=GUID

my MymoviesIDlist.properties file looks like this

#MyMovies Info file for fanart editing!!!
#Fri Nov 05 10:46:17 PDT 2010
1=300\=null
10=Apocalypto\=null
102=Close Encounters of the Third Kind\=null
103=Crazy Heart\=null
105=Donnie Darko\=null
106=Chasseurs de dragons\=null
108=Enemy of the State\=null
109=Enter the Dragon\=null

Is there somewhere else I can get the ID to name my poster art? and why is it showing null?

It's showing null because you don't have the points to get the GUID. the Poster.jpg method should work let me double check it.

Plucky thanks for all the help. I am really liking this plugin so far although going from SMM on my server to SMM on the extender can be a little painful. Backgrounds take about 3 seconds to load and while the navigation through cover art isn’t bad it nothing like it is on the PC. Have you seen any improvement going from the HD200 to the HD300? I have one coming today.

Makes me want to build a client to serve my Big screen.

There is a good improvemnt on the hd300 (not mind boggling or anything) with the latest beta firmware and getting true 1280x720 it certainly looks allot better. There are also some tweaks in the latest beta firmware that I haven't got around to taking advantage of yet in SMM code but I will and that should help greatly from what I am told.

It won't ever be as fast as the client (insane how fast a pc is on SMM) but you don't have to mess with codecs

That being said have you turned the extender settings on for the view ? or at least turn posters fade in off on every view.

Backgrounds shouldn't take 3 seconds to load...what is your fade in delay?

I did attempt to turn on the extender settings but unlike with other options I get no visual conformation that the setting was toggled like I do when I turn off the poster fade in. I will check the delay, I have never looked at it.

The HD300 works great and the speed is noticeably better to a point where even though it is not as fast as the pc its not distracting anymore!!

Now if I could just get my sage service to quit stopping. Not sure what is causing it and it does not happen when I'm watching a movie but if left on it will stop itself. I have to restart it and then everything is fine any ideas?

I've noticed the same thing with the latest release of yesterday but the previous one did the same thing.

Veger69 would you like to submit a bug on this or would you like me to?

There is not way to give a visual confiramation as it just sets the properties quickly there is no guarantee a use won't change one or more of them back. It is not a permanant setting just more like a reset to default type deal.

Plucky I'm a glutton for punishment and decided to upgrade to win7
had a discrepancy in the video directories again and got the ID error again. I have never been able to refresh / rebuild my way back to having them sync again but uninstalling plugin and deleting sagetv folders under mymovies share seems to do the trick. Win 7 apparently changed the location of the share files. Can you fill me in on where these are? deleted everything I could find but all settings are still there.

As stated above not a bug so no need refilling.
