Good to see sideways scoring high. It seem's the most 'practical' of the views. The others are great for eye-candy, but for actually browsing, SideWays just presents the info you need, and is easy to navigate.

I use the List view beacuse it is most practical when you are looking for a specific movie by name. The other views are pretty but it is hard to locate the movie by looking at the small thumbnail covers.

Personally, I would love a hybrid view between List and Side views. Here's a mockup:

The scrolling is on the list, and the covers are scrolling along also.

@mayamaniac - nice concept

Amazing how different everyone is. I exclusively use wall and genre. I have sideways and list disabled, just never found a use for them.

I kinda view Wall View as browsing at blockbuster (the old store). All you saw was covers, and if you got to one the was interesting, you turned it over and read the back.

Looks like Plucky gets to support them all

Okay you inspired me and your suggestion is the first one on the list

Make a SMM View

After a bit we will put them up for a vote and I will design and code one or two of the most popular ones. Good idea if anyone has any others please share!!

Also glad I started this poll I use Wall view exclusively and basic view. I never would have though Sideways view would be popular (I knew list view was)

cheers

I use several of the views with different filters. I have a lot of offline and online movies. Many of my online movies are new movies that I have ripped but haven't yet watched. So, I have sideways view setup to show only online movies that I haven't watched. I use list view to show all the movies. Stuff like that. But, I do like the sideways view best because it incorporates the movie description. I like the concept above too where list view also shows the description.

Thanks what I am talking about someone using the custom views and filters like they were setup for . We do the same and have about 6 different custom views as well. I am working on some changes to make the custom views more dynamically available from all clients/extenders instead of per extender/client.
