Setting up Mymovies to SATA RAID from WHS

I currently have my videos ripped to my WHS server via the my movies addin. My collection management system is on my Win 7 Sagetv server and I have the WHS videos directory imported into Sagetv.
Now I want to have easier/faster access to my videos by attaching a 4 bay SATA Raid drive via esata to my WIndows 7 Sagetv server computer. I still want to use the my movies WHS to rip blurays preferably to my network esata enclosure...
Would i be better served by installing the bluray drive on my win7 sagetv server and setting up the my movies server/client software? WIll there be a problem loading the SMM to use the database with files stored on a network share on the windows 7 with my movies being on WHS??
any help/thoughts would be appreciated....

so will the client coexist with mymovies for WHS? just have the WHS addin monitor the esata drive on the WIn 7 machine? thus will the server database still exist on the WHS and collection management only on win 7?

Yes As long as you install mymovies as a client on the w7 and point it to the whs mymovies server.

Also you need to have unc paths for those esata drives and make sure the whs has full access also probably best to always have the w7 machine on or mymovies will probably have issues monitoring a folder that comes and goes.

I have been harassing binnerup over on the mymovies forum to add the ability to rip from whs to a share on another machine. To this point he has not been very accommodating.

He I read the original post wrong. You cant do that he is right

Also I can understand brains resistance to this is wouldn't be very reliable. And kid of defeats the purpose of the whs addin.

its just that duplication gets pretty expensive for blu rays. If I could auto rip and run the server component of mymovies along with sage on an unraid server I would.

maybe the issues i had with occasional skipping of blurays on my HD100 were more related to the hd100 itself as opposed to the network traffic for it to go from my WHS to the sagetv server and then to the Hd100...thought by going with raid enclosure attaching movies directly to my windows 7 machine it would eliminate a step and speed things up...
maybe the hd300 will do the trick...maybe i will just keep the raid enclosure to backup my whs and have the win7 machine continue to stream blurays off the whs...

I have read allot of issues with hd100 and blu rays. I never had issue with hd200 or hd300.

That bring said it could also be a network cable as I don't think it would go though whs first the extender should just be grabbing the file from the w7 just like another pc would.

the videos are stored on the WHS..so my media import directory is pointed at teh WHS...movies are streamed out of the whs when the win 7 server is streaming to the hd100...hopefully the hd300 i will hopefully get in 1.5-2 wks will solve the problem...
i don't know but i have always had issues with sagetv on WHS, but not many/any with sagetv on win7...i wish i could get whs to work then all the problems would be solved...lots of issues with hdpvr lockups, slow streaming even though it has a q6600....windows 7 just has been so much more stable for me.
i purchased a NIC dedicated for both the sagetv win7 machine and the whs..hopefully the presence of a dedicated NIC in both machines will only help...i already have cat6 cables.
