WHS RAID

I'll be setting up a WHS machine soon and have a basic question about setting up my hard drives:

Can the non-WHS-managed hard drives (which will be the Sage recording drives) be in a RAID configuration (to increase performance) while the WHS-managed drives are not in that RAID?

That's a question that might be better answered on the WHS forums. I can't technically see why it wouldn't work though.

My question would be do you need that increase in performance? I also use WHS and I've got two Sata drives (Sage managed outside the WHS pool) that I can record two HD shows, one SD show and playback a recorded show without any issues.

Yes. I run a RAID5 array on my WHS as well as the WHS managed data partitions.
