Program Guide Scrolling

I have two minor issues that I need assistance with. The first is when you get into the program guide, how do you make the scroll wheel on the mouse move up and down through the guide. Second, is there a way to change what the default mouse click brings up on the main menu? For example, If I am at the default SageTV menu and click on TV, I go straight to the All Recordings menu. I would like to be able to go to the Program Guide instead. Thanks for the assistance.

Hold on a second, maybe I'm showing some naiveness... Mouse? Scroll wheel? I know SageTV "works" with a mouse, but I honestly didn't know anyone used one.

BTW, have you tried the other mouse button?

IMO, something's got to give when you're trying to fit in a number of dissimilar control schemes, and you always have to pick one to be the primary or the design is going to suffer even more.

On my SageTV Client running on Windows 7, my mouse scroll wheel works fine on the guide.

I use the mouse on my placeshifter version , and the mouse scroll wheel works properly on the guide too.

I have the ability to right and left click and have no problems there. I just can't scroll on any screen in version 7. I do not remember this being an issue on version 6. My current mouse is a Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 2.0. To the best of my knowledge I have no other scrolling issues, other than in SageTV.

One other thing, the scrolling issue is on my primary SageTV setup. Since I am usually setting at my PC with the mouse already in my hand I saw no reason to set up a remote for that location. I also have a SageTV Client on another machine and I have no scrolling issues there. However I rarely use a mouse on that system. That system is controlled 100% of the time by a remote.

Well I uninstalled the IntelliPoint 7.1 drivers from Microsoft and I now have mouse scrolling back. I am not sure why those drivers would affect ONLY scrolling in SageTV. Now to the second question. Is there a way to change what the default mouse click brings up on the main menu? I would prefer to click on the TV and go to the Program Guide, not the All Recordings menu.

Have you tried clicking with another mouse button? Have you tried holding SHIFT when clicking? Or another modifier key? What you're seeing is he default behavior of pressing the select button on a remote, versus the optional behavior of pressing right.

It's a flawed design having two ways to trigger a single menu item, but it is what it is for now.

You may want to look into customizing you menus if alternate buttons of modifier keys don't work. Or simply press RIGHT on the keyboard which should get you what you want (which, using some mouse button mapping software you could assign to an alternate mouse button specifically for SageTV).
