DirecTv -1 channels

How do you get SageTV with HDPVR and USB-UIRT to select the -1 channel?
I currently want to watch baseball in HD. The SD channel is 669 and the HD channel is 669-1 on DirecTv.

Sage lists BOTH channels as 669, one being SD and one HD, but selecting either one causes the receiver to select the SD channel. Makes sense, since Sage never asked me to teach it the "-" command when setting up the HDPVR.

So, How do you tune to the HD channels?

I think there is an option in the stb setup to make it always tune the HD version.

That only works IF both the HD and SD channel duplicates of each other (TWC) and TWCHD) for example, works with Sage. The -1 HD channels are hd channels and have no SD counterpart. IOW, they carry different programming than the SD version at times, and at times its the same.

Most of the -1 channels in the sports pak are game only, so the "Hide SD Dupes" doesnt work on the STB.

I tried remapping, but the USB-UIRT doesnt send the "-".

Have you learned the "-" key? by default, only the 0-9 keys are learned by sage, but you can teach it any key you want.

In the source setup for that particular source, theres an option for configuring the USB-UIRT. There, you can 'Learn a new command'. You should have been through it at some point to program it for the DirecTV remote. Either way, it will tell you to press and hold the appropriate button. Hold the remote about 2 inches from the USB-UIRT, and hold it until sage tells you to let go.

Thank you ole Guru... Found the spot to learn a command, and it works perfectly after remapping channel 669 to 669-1, and changing the max digits from auto to 5.

Thanks for the help.

I'm not sure the number of digits is a MAX digits number. I believe it is actually a MIN digits (so if set to 3, and you tune to channel 2, it will send 0 0 2). If you set it to 5, and tune to channel 2, it will send 0 0 0 0 2, which will likely not work right. Setting it to 3 should be good for you. With it set to three, it'll still work right:

Ch 2 will send 0 0 2
Ch 143 will send 1 4 3
Che 669-1 will still send 6 6 9 - 1
