Sage won't go to channels below 118 on Directv
I have the latest version of Sage with the D10 directv box with serial control through com1, with the tv guide set to DirecTv San Francisco for my channels. I have it setup to show all channels.This all started after a power outage last week. I went to go watch a recorded show and found out it was from the wrong channel. So I tried to record another show and same issue. I started to scroll through the channels and when it goes below 118 the channels are black, nothing comes in. WTF! I say.

Its a firmware problem on the D10's.
DirecTV is updating the firmware on the D10's and it broke the serial control for channels under 100. It is a known problem, there are a couple threads here, and more at tivocommunity.com . |

One of the 'other' DirecTV threads you might find useful is this one, where someone talks about sending one channel digit at a time... or something like that.

I'm another one caught by the firmware upgrade on my D10. Damned thing won't go below 100 with the serial connection. I'll check those other threads for solutions.

I just spent 2 hours reading about this last night. It seems that it will be resolved soon.

I've switched over to a IR-200L for now. Will switch back once Directv fixes the problem.

Yea I called DTVs support, they say they are working on a fix. It is a pain listening to their gawd awful autamated voice system, but anyone having the problem should call. Who knows what other problems they may have, so more people that complain the better, squeaky whell gets the grease.

Just to add, Sage support sent me an e-mail they are aware of the problem and working on a fix as well.
From what I hear I wouldn't expect a fix from Directv until the fall, if that. Call me a pessimist, but they will fix other things they broke that effect more customers first, such as a screensaver problem,anouther national upgrade, and decide not to do anouther upgrade to fix an "unsopported" feature since it would be an inconvience to their Xmillion other customers. |
