changing DirecTV channels
I've downloaded SageTV and I have it working OK for live TV. The remote will change DirecTV channels (via serial cable). However, when I select a program to be recorded (right click in the guide and select record), the time slot will be recorded but it doesn't change the channel where that program was played. What am I doing wrong? Do I need additional software?

Can you channel surf fine with SageTV in Live TV? In this instance was your DirecTV receiver powered off for some reason?

Yes, I can change channels just fine in live TV with the remote. No, the receiver is never turned off. I leave it on all the time. I setup a test. I picked a program that was going to start in 20 minutes. The receiver was set on channel X and the program schedule to record was on channel Y. The time slot was recorded but the program that was recorded was the program that was on channel X. Not Y like I had selected. I'm using a Sony receiver model number B55 or something like that. I'm not at home at the moment or I'd go check.

Isn't there someone who has something to say about this? Maybe this is a common problem and I should know that already. Or perhaps it's so simple to fix I should know that as well. I know I have read that people are working successfully with Sage TV and DirecTV so I can't believe that there isn't a fix for this. Would changing to the Beta version be advised at this point or not?

Everything works fine with my DirecTV<->Sage link, but I'm using the RCA DRD435RH receiver. I got it off eBay for $45 [overpriced, but I used BuyItNow as I didn't want to wait].
I know a bunch of us are using that - If you're having this many issues, you may want to suck it up and go to that receiver.

What happens when you are watching Live TV and go back into the Guide to select something else Live to watch, does it change to the correct channel?

OK I think I gave some bad information before. I was under the impression that I could change channels via the remote while watching Live TV. It appears that does not work either. In both cases (remote or going into the Guide) the display (blue box that shows current channel) will show that the new channel has been selected but what is being shown will not change. I thought I had been successful at changing the channel via SageTV by using the remote but I can't seem to duplicate the results.
Has anyone had success at changing channels on a Sony B50 receiver?
