Problem with HD-channels

Hi all!

Could somebody help me with HD codec settings?

I am using CyberLink PowerDVD8 and I am using its H.264 Decoder as an H.264 codec in SageTV.

My SageTV settings are VMR9, CyberLink H.264 Decoder (PowerDVD8), DXVA on. I've tried all other available options such as interlacing and other. Nothing helps.

When I'm trying to view HD-channel (i think it's 1080i) the picture is shaking a little and on the dynamic scenes I see the lines dividing my picture. Same results I get on all HD-channels. SD-channels are working fine.

When I'm viewing the same recording using PowerDVD8 with the same codec everything is perfect. DXVA is also on.

What is the difference? I'm using the same codec... Why do I get different results?

My Hardware is Zotac ION ITX-A-E. It's Intel Atom330 based on Nvidia ION.

I'm sure it's not a performance issue because in every cases my CPU usage is about 10%.

Get Overlay working first and try it with VMR9 after it looks good with Overlay. EVR on Window7 is much easier to setup.

Detailed Setup:Video\Audio
Set: Video Render: Overlay
Set: MPEG2 Video Decoder Filter: Cyberlink... (PDVD8)
Set: H.264 Video Decoder Filter: Cyberlink H.264\AVC... (PDVD8)
Set: MPEG2 Audio Decoder Filter: Cyberlink... (PDVD8)

Detailed Setup:Advanced
Set: 3D Acceleration: Enabled
Set: Use Full Screen Exclusive mode: Yes

Download the latest DirectX package from Microsoft
Latest nVidia Drivers

What is the Source of the Recording?

Thank you very much. It helps me. I think the Overlay with FSEM was right parameters for me. HD is going super, excelent quality and very smooth.

What is the difference in Overlay and VMR?
