Lose Monitor on Power off or Source Change
I've just purchased and installed a Samsung Plasma 550 and connected it to Sage via ATI Radeon 9600 DVI-HDMI cable. Have very latest Sage and ATI software/drivers installed as well as XP SP3 (current). All is working fine except for one HUGE problem. When I change input source for the TV or power it off, I lose the connection to the HTPC. I must unplug the HDMI cable and re-insert in order to get it back (or reboot the HTPC). This is getting old quickly. I have no idea whether this is a Windows issue, a graphics driver issue, or a TV issue. Any and all help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Bill |

I'm 99% sure this is a Windows issue. When I use my HDMI switch, I here windows complain(play sound), and when I switch it back, some of my windows are moved. Haven't searched for a fix yet.

Samsung has posted a new level of code (which is not quite available yet) that fixes a problem with power off. That's next to try...they promised it very shortly.
I get a beep (from Windows) when a disconnect the HDMI and another when I reconnect it....not sure if that means Windows is the problem or not. --Bill |

This is an ATI driver issue which occurs when using the HDMI port on your TV. Try this program called HdmiOn to see if it turns your set back on. For me, I have EventGhost controlling SageTV and I simply added a call to HdmiOn.exe when I hit the "Watch TV" button on my Harmony remote. This resends the EDID signal to the TV to wake it up again.
