6.0 - Change source for OTA Digital station to Zap2It?

Hi guys,

I'm running into a minor problem with the local NBC affiliate in Burlington, VT. They've just began broadcasting digitally over the past couple of months, and still have yet to add the PSIP (program guide) data to their stream.

SageTV knows of this station when I do the scan for new channels and picks it up. It is identified as:
5-1 - WPTZ-HD - [14-5-1]

Taking a look at Zap2It, they have the programming schedule for this station already listed as 5.1 WPTZDT (channel ID in the URL is 53391).

How can I modify this station so it uses data from Zap2It until they finally decide to get around to fixing their problem? Is it possible in SageTV 6.0? I've searched around a bit and cannot find a solution to this specific issue (where the channel is already defined by SageTV) and didn't see a solution for this issue in the manual itself.

Thanks!!

Make sure you actually email support on this. I believe Sage purchases this info from Tribune who also provides Zap2it. With an official request Sage can actually pursue this with Tribune and possibly accelerate a solution for you.

I don't use this, but... if I understand you correctly, then look for the epg_data_sources/<some number>/disable_data_scanning property and try setting the one for the lineup used by that tuner to true. I believe that will prevent SageTV from integrating the EPG data from the digital channel's stream into the guide data that SageTV uses.

Anyone know if Opus' suggestion worked. I made the change and it did nothing to my guide.

I'm setup much like a couple others. I have a new Avertv180HD installed and CBS, and Fox just turned on their channels this week. So my guide just says not data on the channels (11.1 and 18.1) But when I go out to Zap2it
http://tvlistings5.zap2it.com/tvlist...?zipcode=99336
it shows complete listings for those channels.

I've read mutliple posts on this but each one was a little different or using an older version of sage. I'm on 6.019.

So what is the solution to this. I want my guide to use the Zap2it info if possible for those couple channels..

Thanks
Mike

I've had no luck with this as of yet.. sorry man. I haven't been really fighting with it as of late, as I need to upgrade my video card before I can display 1080i without frame skipping, so the "No Data" is actually helping me right now.. that will change next week, when the new hardware arrives

To do this you setup and use the xmltv plugin. If you use Sage guide data on one tuner then xmltv on another it gets a bit more complex, however for whatever reason there is Sage does not get all the guide data you find on zap2it.

So, read down a bit more and you'll see a howto for using the xmltv plugins and once you have that done you'll have all the guide data you could ever want.
