Can I change my Source Filter and Demux?
Hey guys!
I know that I can choose which audio/video renderers and decoders Sage uses. Is there anyway to choose the Source Filter and Demuxs?

no... Because of the client/server streaming architecture of Sage, it needs special control over the source filter+demux (which is why formats with combined source/decoder filters do not work)

Why?

Because after playing with Graphedit a little while I think I have determined that the reason the sound gets distorted has to do with the way Sage is handling it. I was able to get distortion free playback through Graphedit with the settings the way they should be.

If that's the case, report it to SageTV as a bug.
Really the reason for the answer to the original question is three-fold: 1) SageTV requires a demux that has a passthrough for timeshifting. 2) SageTV's networked architecture requires that the file source and demux be separate. 3) You really shouldn't have to change it. If it's not working, bug it and it should get fixed. |

Yeah I sent in a bug report about my concern and Sage was very responsive

They seem to be about demux issues, as that's a pretty important part.

The Source Filter is also very important, I was looking into HDTVPump which is highly lauded on the ZP forums to get TS files working. But it's just a source filter which can then use the MS Mpeg Demux. So apparently that first step can make a big difference.
