stupid HD DVD question...

ok, so slysoft is doing their 29.99 euro update to anyDVDHD thingy, and I have 2 HD DVD's (serenity & the free king kong that is still in its original shrink wrap) so I figure why not rip them to the NAS?

so my question is what is needed to rip them so that they can be played back on my HD200's? what is the proper/preferred format?

with regular DVD's I just rip the main movie to the /video_ts folder... what is the equivalent for HD DVD? and does the HD200 like that?

Clown_BD will do what you need, it can convert them to a blu-ray format the extenders can handle.

the clown_BD thing looks cool, but there don't appear to be any UDF drivers for XP pro x64... bummer...

They're around (google Toshiba UDF) or AnyDVD will rip an HD DVD without the drivers AFAIK, and you can run Clown on the rip.

all the Tosh I could find seem to be for 32bit XP...

but yes, I did have a DOH! moment and realized right after I posted that I could just rip to HDD then do the clown thing...

its inconvenient, but I only have a couple HD DVD's...

HD DVDs are somewhat inconvenient at this point in time by themselves (and I've got a few )

ok, so I had clown doing its thing last night, come home from work today and decide to see whats up... and um... what exactly is up? where did it put the movie? I found some bits of audio in /eactemp and I think there are some video bits in /tsremux/temp but are those the 'real deal' or are they just temp files?

also, it says I have the option of TS, M2TS and Bluray+ISO, what format does sage prefer? (regular bluray is grayed out... why?, would I even want that option if it was available?)

sorry for the stupid questions, not really even close to being up to date with this whole HD thing...

I wonder if you have an older version...

There's two paths that are important, "Demux Location" is basically the temp location, but the folder name there seems to drive the final location.

The Final locaiton is the "Remux Location"

I pick Blu-ray output since that creates a Blu-ray folder structure that Sage understands.

That's the same one I have, not sure why Blu-ray is greyed out. You might need to check the Use TSMuxer option, and maybe uncheck ImgBurn...

I am having a problem with my converted HDDVDs - the rips play back for a few minutes, but then my extenders crash. I posted more details in a separate thread here. Any advice on how to get this to work, or anybody who's seen this issue before?
