Does anyone know how they did this? Seems like it might be useful in terms of getting it working with the Sage Web interface.

Doesn't seem that useful.

HTTP Live Streaming
The EyeTV software running on your Mac converts live TV to the correct format for streaming to the iPhone, ensuring optimal picture quality.
EyeTV software and both apps use the HTTP streaming standard developed by Apple. This takes advantage of the iPhone’s hardware acceleration to deliver the highest possible playback quality and longer battery life.

Both ends of the software run on Apple products only. Sage can already convert recordings to iPod/iPhone resolution.
