Sage Web Server and existing web server compatibilty?

Hello!

Quick question before I blow something up

I don't even have Sage up and running yet but really like what it seems like this Sage web server plugin can do! However, I have a Win2000 machine right now that I use to host several websites. I'm using Apache and not IIS. Can I run the Sage web server without crashing my actual web server? Like I mentioned, I don't have any of this installed yet... just trying to stay up on these cool customizations! When I finally get my HTPC built ( ) I intend to run Cayars STV and maybe by then he'll have the web server integrated

Thanks! I'm hoping the answer is that both my Sage web server and web sites can co-exists on the same home network but not the same machine

So long as they use different ports, they will not interfere with each other (the webserver plugin uses port 8080 by default, but this is changeable. The default port for web servers is 80 for http and 443 for https)

Brent94Z,

I also want to install Apache web server. Is it easy to install? I'm a novice for web servers and I don't want to use IIS.

Is there a web site, maybe, for "Apache for Dummies?" Something that can give me a soup to nuts instructions?

Thanks!

Cool! Thanks! (Even though I have a web server it doesn't mean I know much about it... still learning. LOL!) Thanks again!

Well, I kinda cheated and you can cheat too

I used a free program called YellowTip web server. You download it, run it, and it automatically (basically one click install!!!) installs Apache, PostNuke, Gallery, a Blog program, phpMyAdmin, MySQL, and maybe some other stuff to. Worked great
